Frequently Asked Questions

How does ear piercing work?

To make ear piercing stress-free, our team begins by marking the spots, applying a gentle numbing cream, and thoroughly sanitizing your child’s earlobes. We use a medical-grade device to insert hypoallergenic starter studs made of surgical steel. The piercing is quick, and we do everything to ensure a pleasant experience!

When should I get my child’s ears pierced?

It’s entirely up to you! We offer ear piercings for babies as young as two months old. However, if your child is younger than two months, please contact us to arrange a consultation. Many families choose to wait until their child is older and ready for aftercare, often around age 10. We’re here to support you in making the best choice for your family!

How do I take care of my child’s ear piercing?

We’ll provide you with all the aftercare instructions needed to keep those ears happy and healthy. Daily cleaning, gentle stud rotation, and leaving the starter studs in for six weeks are part of our recommended care. And if you ever have questions, just reach out!

How do I know if my child’s ear piercing is infected?

Minor redness and swelling are typical, but if you notice pus, pain, or increased redness, give us a call. We’re here to help your child’s ears heal well and comfortably.

Contact Treasure Coast Pediatrics to book your child’s ear-piercing appointment. We’re excited to be part of this memorable moment!
